A Woman’s Identity
As young women step into the world of adulthood, they begin to see how women are still dehumanised and objectified by the scars of the patriarchal society. Inspired by Thomas Ruff and Richard Avedon; these six deadpan passport-like portraits, depict young women from different ethnic backgrounds within the same generation. Dressed in hoodies and optional clothing, with subtle shifts to their appearance throughout this series. These women present themselves to be challenging the stereotypical standards and norms set by society and within the media. These women have a voice, a future and an identity of their own.
